Centre House Shelter - (814) 237-5508 | Contact Info

Thank you to our clients, staff, board, and community,

On behalf of the Housing Transitions Staff, and Board, I thank you for visiting our website and your support throughout the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. The crisis is not over (as of June 29, 2021) but we have learned so much during the past 15 months and emerge stronger and more equipped to serve the must vulnerable populations in our community, thanks to your support!

We were fortunate to be able to continue providing all of our services throughout the crisis, and are not letting up now. We remain open 24/7. We have reopened our congregate shelter space at Centre House and we continue to shelter individuals and families, off-site as well. We have learned that having both options allows us to better serve the homeless population in our area. We have also continued providing services to help residents find permanent and sustainable housing solutions and work with other service providers to ensure long term stability.

With variants of the virus spreading, and a slowing of the population getting vaccinated, and knowing our clients tend to be some of the must vulnerable, we continue to respectfully request that when you visit our spaces, you wear a mask. Our staff are all back in-office, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community into the future.

Sincerely,

Morgan Wasikonis, Executive Director Sign up meals here:

Our Continued Service

We are, and always have been, working and answering calls 24/7.

We provide shelter services for individuals and families both in our congregate space: Centre House Shelter and off site.

We continue to provide food, supplies, and services to all residents

If you would like to donate food or other supplies, please call our shelter number at (814) 237-5508 to make arrangements.

We are always happy to accept financial donations, and donations of gift cards for our clients in denominations of $10-$25 for groceries, gas, or restaurant take out may be dropped off, or mailed to 217 E. Nittany Ave, State College, PA 16801

We are beginning to accept volunteer help but are accepting food donations being dropped off. During "normal times" we have volunteers who come cook with residents and share a meal. Until we can begin that again, we have a sign up genius link for people to bring cooked food for residents. We distribute any cooked meals to residents staying in hotels as well as the those in the Centre House Shelter congregate space. Thank you for your support! We wish you health, and safety!

Thank you!
